Joseph Muir Lutwin is a former Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division. He is also a retired NYC Detective ( 1983-2003) with over 40 years of Investigatory experience. During his 20-year career with the NYC Housing Police and the NYC Police Department, Joseph made over 2500 Arrests and assisted the District Attorney’s Office with numerous, investigations, trials, and convictions.
Joseph was also a Detective Criminal Investigator with Florida’s Division of Insurance Fraud from 2003-2006. In this capacity, he conducted many fraud-related Investigations and also was responsible for numerous arrests and subsequent convictions.
Joseph also has 6 years of experience as a credentialist working for TLO and Transunion conducting numerous thorough background checks for individuals and companies requesting access to sensitive data.
Joseph founded JML Investigations in 2024 and offers his services and wealth of knowledge and experience to those in need of Expert Investigation in many areas.

N HIS 21 YEARS AS A NYPD DETECTIVE/SERGEANT, HE CONDUCTED ALL ASPECTS OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS. HE ALSO SERVED AS A DETECTIVE/SERGEANT INVESTIGATOR WHILE EMPLOYED BY THE QUEENS COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE TRIAL BUREAU, FOR 20 YEARS.
DURING HIS EMPLOYMENT WITH THE QUEENS DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE, JEROME CONDUCTED INTENSIVE AND COMPLEX INVESTIGATIONS IN ORGANIZED CRIME.
JEROME FOUNDED JML INVESTIGATIONS IN FEBRUARY OF 2021. HE IS A LICENSED BONDED PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK. HE IS ALSO A NYS LICENSED NOTARY PUBLIC.
